Run by friends and neighbours, they make so manyh contributions to our communities, keep our neighbourhoods unique, our social fabric strong, and much more of the wealth we create recirculating locally. They are innovative and nimble, create great jobs, bolster other local businesses through their purchasing, support local causes, and collaborate with other businesses to grow the local ecosystem. We believe they are the key to a fairer, more just, and connected world.

Our vision is a world of thriving, resilient communities built on a foundation of shared economic prosperity. Our mission is to identify and amplify the factors that allow local businesses to thrive and enhance their role in community resilience. We believe when local businesses and economies thrive, benefits to the community increase. These benefits include:

Our Work
Our work supports local businesses and economies to thrive. We:
- Conduct Action Research to identify economic issues and study potential solutions that could help local businesses and support healthy community economies.
- Pilot Solutions derived from our research to test, prove, iterate and raise awareness through the process.
- Advocate and Raise Awareness of the role of local businesses in healthy communities in order to drive culture and policy changes that will enhance local business viability and resilience.
